• We’re looking for a Laboratory Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the laboratory.
• The Laboratory Manager will oversee the work of the laboratory technicians and ensure that all safety procedures are followed.

Requirements    

• National Diploma 
• Relevant experience in applying job related concepts, techniques and processes at the required level  
• Business English: Fluent 
• Computer literacy (Intermediate) 
• Code 08 Driver's license  
• Work shifts/weekends/public holidays

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Setup and operation of laboratory  
• Determine the lab set up and lay out of equipment  
• Maintain and ensure correct operation of lab equipment  

Establish good laboratory and hygiene manufacturing practices  

• Ensure correct sampling and testing procedures  
• Implement chemical and microbiological sample analysis  
• Involve with product trials  
• Head up the sensory panel  

Ensure the availability of required testing material  

• Record and report product deviations  
• Perform troubleshooting, interpret and report on results  
• Assist Quality Assurance and Quality Control departments  
• Release product  

Track errors and deviations  

• Perform laboratory administration  
• Guidance and training of team members and plant personnel  
• Ensure efficient use of laboratory substances  
• Manage staff performances  
• Evaluate and maintain QA and QC systems  

Communicate and interact with internal and external clients  

• Conduct audits  
• Coordinate internal audits  
• Do and coordinate HACCP analysis  

Coordinate Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting  

• Manage staff   
• Ensure optimal utilisation of staff
