    Head of Division: Registrations

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Education, Public Administration, Business Administration or Social Sciences  A Postgraduate Degree (NQF Level-8) in Business Management or Leadership  Ten (10) years of relevant experience (especially in the management of organisational processes, such as planning, execution of decisions, reporting and human capital management or similar), of which at least five (5) years should have been at middle management level.

    • Knowledge of relevant legislation  Knowledge of corporate governance  Problem-solving skills  Customer service skills  Organisational skills  Research skills  Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Outlook).

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Compile or update a compendium of requirements for all registration processes across all professions of the 12 professional boards  Develop and/or update registration policies, guidelines, business processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)  Benchmark registration business processes with international regulatory authorities to enhance service delivery to practitioners and in line with best practices  Provide inputs and guidance regarding the issuing of annual fee reminders and erasures in terms of non-payment of the annual fee to the Finance and Supply Chain Management (SCM) Department  
    • Manage complicated restoration applications, including waiving of penalties in exceptional cases  Liaise with relevant international entities operating in the space on setting internationally acceptable qualifications and standards for registered persons  Contribute to the development of Council’s Strategic Plan, Annual Performance Plan (APP) and Risk Register and Budget  Manage all processes related to both internal and external audits on matters relating to the division, including responding to requests for information, providing management responses to audit findings, and implementing corrective measures based on audit findings  
    • Manage ongoing mentoring, training and development of staff  Participate in the Management Operations Committee (MOC) and extended Executive Management Committee (EMC) of the HPCSA, or their equivalents as and when required  Attend meetings of governance structures, including those for Council, Professional Boards, and their committees where appropriate  Provide performance information needed for Council and Core Operations Department’s reports (including quarterly and annual reports).
