Head of Procurement at EarthStream

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate for this position should possess a degree in Engineering, Business or Accounting along with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in Procurement or other related roles within the energy, mining, or construction industries.
• The candidate should have proven experience in conducting large-scale negotiations.
• well-versed in construction contracts for large projects, specifically FIDIC or NEC contract templates. Additionally, previous experience in managing direct reports is required for this role.
• The candidate must be fluent in English, with the ability to conduct business seamlessly in the language.

Duties:

• The role entails leading the Procurement team in South Africa by enforcing and adhering to Procurement policies established by Central Procurement, defining sourcing strategies within the South African perimeter, approving Vendor Lists in accordance with company thresholds, directing the team in running and conducting tenders and other provider selection processes, and approving contract awards and amendments in line with company thresholds.
• Furthermore, the candidate should provide support to the BD Unit by managing and overseeing the tender and negotiation of Heads of Terms with potential EPC/Civil/Electrical contractors for Renewable Projects in South Africa, both in governmental and private business initiatives. The candidate will also support the E&C Unit by managing and supervising the negotiation and finalisation of Construction Contracts for selected Renewable Projects, as well as approving any potential amendments thereof. The O&M Unit can expect support from the candidate in the form of managing and overseeing the tender, negotiation, and finalisation of Scheduled Maintenance Contracts.
• In addition, the candidate will manage and supervise tenders, negotiations, and the finalisation of Supply and Services Contracts for the E&C, O&M, BD, and Staff Units (e.g. AFC, ICT, Communications, Human Resources, etc.). Finally, the candidate will report relevant Procurement function reports (e.g. expenditure, procurement status, compliance, etc.) with regards to the perimeter of South Africa to the Africa Head of Procurement by organising and managing the issuance of such reports.
