    Head of Reward

    Introduction

    Reporting to the Group HR Director, your primary purpose is to develop remuneration and benefits strategies and frameworks to achieve the Mr Price Group’ employee attraction, motivation and retention objectives.

    • Lead the Remuneration function including defining and optimising the structure, team and processes. Uplift the overall remuneration competence across the business
    • Articulate and clearly define the Mr Price Group’s remuneration and performance management philosophy aligned to our values
    • Document a Remuneration and Performance Management Policy that will enable the business strategy and enhance the Mr Price Group’s Employee Value Proposition
    • Provide clear processes and measures to enable effective remuneration management in the business in line with the integrated performance management process
    • Manage the Mr Price Group’s benefit programs in conjunction with outsourced providers to ensure a high service delivery
    • Manage salary benchmarking internally and externally to ensure competitive market rates and organisational relativity
    • Track and effectively analyse and interpret people information, including pay positioning to provide management information for people management decision making
    • Provide best practice insights and industry trends
    • Represent the Mr Price Group at SARA and relevant remuneration user groups, ensuring our organisation is informed of industry changes and updates
    • Manage the annual incentive and increase process
    • Prepare reports for and provide strategic inputs at various committees including Remuneration Committee of the Board, Social Ethics and Transformation Committee, Share Trust
    • Custodian of all HR Policy and employment contract templates
    • The custodian of the Mr Price Group’s job evaluation methodology to enable measurement of internal pay equity
    • Propose and implement solutions dealing with legislative and social pay issues concerning equal pay for work of equal value, a living wage, minimising the wage gap and pay transparency
    • Custodian of the Mr Price Group’s organisational design as it pertains to the HR responsibility

     

    What are the minimum requirements for this career opportunity?

    • Post Graduate Degree in a Human Resource or Finance or related field
    • 5 years plus experience at a Senior Management Level
    • GRP Certified
    •  A deep knowledge of the HR and Remuneration Competency
    • Knowledge of King 4 Governance Code requirements and SA Labour law impacting remuneration
    • Reward Consulting and Organisational Design experience is preferred
