    • TLC Marketing is evolving its strategic and creative capacity at local market level in order to a) sell more efficiently; b) sell more services to clients.

    Role Description

    To raise the profile of Strategic Planning across TLC South Africa & UAE, concentrating on the core areas of:

    information gathering (do we have enough to go on?)

    • insight generation
    • creative briefing
    • creative liaison throughout process (is it on strategy? Can I defend it against capricious opinion?)
    • digital integration – does it chime with the client’s Social strategy?
    • proposal writing
    • evaluation

    Core Deliverables

    • Establish a culture of research-led consumer insight that informs a directional creative brief (already underway)
    • Establish a culture of evaluation: guide clients on what to measure, ensure it gets measured (already underway)
    • Establish best practice process throughout the MARKET business, from client brief to pitch / presentation
    • Create the tools (briefs, templates, examples) that make this easy
    • Lead the education/training of TLC staff that allow it to take root
    • Specialist in building client proposals

    Experience & Attitudes

    A Strategic Planner is the bridge between three Cs - Client, Consumer and Creative. As such he or she needs excellent people skills, sound business judgment and immediately credible experience.

    Essential Experience

    • Has worked in research, planning or similar in the world of integrated marketing / SP in a client-facing role for at least two successful years. Understands brands and their needs! A specialist in building proposals.

    • Curious about everything – especially people and brands
    • Active in all media, hungry for new things, excited about living
    • Doesn’t trust assumptions
    • Develops hunches, follows them, proves them
    • Commercially astute
    • Pragmatic & adaptable
    • Not precious
