    Health Safety Environment Supervisor

    Health Safety Environment Supervisor

    We are looking for dynamic Mining orientated HSE Supervisor for our projects in the Northern Cape for a short term contract of 6 months. Your 5 years in Health and Safety Management experience in the EPCM or related organisation coupled with your further experience in the underground mining environment will be essential.

    The key roles and responsibility of the position would include:

    • Understand the contents of the Mines Health and Safety Act 1996, the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1993, and other applicable legislation, and facilitate the process and provide oversight to ensure compliance.
    • Inspections and Auditing of implemented HSE systems and standards to ensure consistent improvement and compliance.
    • Day to day HSE management of all activities in your area of responsibility.
    • Carry out the duties as set out in Regulations 2.17.3 and 2.17.4 of the Mines Health and Safety Act.
    • Advise the site management team on HSE related aspects and provide feedback and solutions for continual improvement.
    • Adequately respond and deal with HSE related challenges identified.

    Qualifications:      

    • SAMTRAC, COMSOC 1 & 2 or equivalent is essential
    • Mining related qualification is essential (Competency A&B, Blasting ticket, Shift Supervisor, or equivalent).
    • An incident investigation training certificate is essential.
    • A risk management training certificate will be advantageous.
    • Training on the Mine Health and Safety Act will be advantageous.
    • National Diploma or higher qualification in Health and Safety Management.

    • A competitive market-related salary, benefits, and incentive structure commensurate with qualifications and experience will be negotiated with successful candidates.
