Health & Wellness Officer: Student Support Services: (SL7) x1 (Three Years Contract)
An appropriate Bachelor of Social Sciences qualification plus at least two years in Student Support Services experience in Health and Wellness. Competencies: needs to be an active listener and innovative thinker, problem solving skills, ability to perform accurately under pressure, good planning and organisational skills , integrity and have appropriate verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interpret directives. Knowledge in the TVET College Sector. Computer Literacy and valid driver’s license may be an added advantage.
Key Performance Areas:
Coordinate and advocate Health and Wellness campaigns. Establish and manage relationship with Health Stakeholders. Establish and coordinate disability committees at Campuses. Track and trace students with disabilities. Basic Counselling and referral of staff ang students. Ability to discuss issues like social conflicts faced by the students or reasons for their poor academic performance. Manage and facilitate Peer Mentor programmes at Campuses. Able to give career guidance. Implement the sport, recreation, art and culture programmes. Provide and coordinate disability programmes. Provide education and awareness on health and wellness related issues. Promote health and wellness and the facilitation of health related-events, activities and interventions (Wellness day, HIV/AIDS etc).
