    HR Information Specialist (Contract)

    Job Description

    • We are looking for a specialist-level HR Information Specialist to join our Human Capital team on a 6-12 month contract. This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely loves working with HR data and Excel and can operate confidently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Our HR data tools are largely manual, so this role is ideal for someone who enjoys extracting, cleaning, analysing and transforming HR data into meaningful insights for leadership, Board reporting and governance forums.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    HR Data Management & Integrity

    • Own and manage all HR-related data across payroll and HR systems
    • Extract, clean, validate and reconcile data from Payspace, Deel and other HR sources
    • Ensure ongoing accuracy, consistency and completeness of employee data
    • Identify data gaps, inconsistencies and risks and proactively resolve them

    Reporting, Dashboards & Analytics

    • Design, build and maintain HR dashboards, reports and trackers using Excel
    • Produce recurring and ad-hoc reports for:
    • Board-level packs
    • Executive leadership
    • Board / Executive Committee reporting
    • Regulatory, governance and audit requirements
    • Translate raw HR data into clear, concise insights and trends
    • Deliver data in a format that is executive-ready and easy to interpret

    Board, Governance & Compliance Support

    • Prepare HR data inputs for Board and Committee reports
    • Support statutory and compliance reporting requirements
    • Ensure consistency of HR metrics across reporting cycles
    • Respond quickly to leadership requests for data analysis and insights
    • Operational Excellence & turnaround is a key responsibility in line with competencies required for/of this role (refer to below competencies)

    Key Requirements:

    Key Experience & Skills (Non-Negotiable)

    Professional Experience

    • A minimum of 4 years proven experience in an HR reporting / HRIS / HR analytics role
    • Experience producing reports for ExCo, Board or governance structures
    • Comfortable working in environments with manual or semi-manual data tools
    • Ability to operate at a specialist level without needing close management

    Technical & Systems

    • Advanced to expert Microsoft Excel skills (this role lives in Excel)
    • Pivot tables, formulas, lookups, data modelling
    • Dashboard and reporting design
    • Experience extracting and working with data from Payspace/Deel will be highly beneficial
    • Strong understanding of HR data structures, payroll data and employee lifecycle data
    • Proven knowledge and experience working with databases and BI tools would be advantageous

     Qualification:

    • A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or a related field is a requirement
    • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Management or related field together with proven working knowledge and experience in Human Resources

    Professional Development

    • Training in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Management or related field is advantageous

    Competencies:

    • Extremely detail-oriented with high standards for data accuracy
    • Fast, responsive and reliable with strong turnaround discipline (without compromising accuracy)
    • Confident communicator who can explain (or present) data and insights clearly
    • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
    • Loves working with data and Excel (this is essential)
    • Analytical, structured and solution-oriented
    • Remain calm and work efficiently under pressure and deadline-driven
    • Trustworthy and discreet when handling sensitive employee data
    • Proactive and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision in a contract role
    • Continuously improve reporting processes within a manual data environment
