    HR Officer

    Key Responsibilities:

    Industrial Relations (IR) & Employee Relations

    • Ensure compliance with Motor Industry Bargaining Council (MIBCO) agreements.
    • Handle and resolve grievances, workplace disputes, and union-related matters.
    • Provide guidance on disciplinary actions, retrenchments, and dismissals.
    • Ensure compliance with Employment Equity (EE) requirements and contribute to EE planning.

    CCMA & DRC Case Management

    • Manage and represent the company in CCMA and DRC cases related to unfair dismissals, wage disputes, and unfair labour practices.
    • Draft and submit necessary documentation for conciliation, mediation, and arbitration.
    • Conduct internal investigations to prevent and resolve disputes before escalation.

    Disciplinary Processes & Drafting of Warnings

    • Draft and issue verbal, written, and final warnings in compliance with Labor Relations Act (LRA) and BCEA.
    • Maintain proper documentation of disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
    • Conduct and chair disciplinary hearings and incapacity inquiries.
    • Train managers on correct disciplinary and warning procedures.

    Recruitment & Onboarding

    • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including screening, interviews, and selection.
    • Draft and update employment contracts and job descriptions.
    • Ensure PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) compliance for security staff if applicable.

    Training & Development

    • Identify training needs and implement HR and compliance training programs.
    • Conduct workshops on labour law, disciplinary processes, and grievance handling.
    • Maintain employee training records and ensure compliance with EE and skills development.

    Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support

    • Process payroll inputs and ensure compliance with MIBCO regulations.
    • Administer employee benefits such as medical aid, pension funds, and leave management.
    • Ensure adherence to BCEA (Basic Conditions of Employment Act) on working hours, leave, and wages.

    HR Compliance & Administration

    • Ensure compliance with BCEA, LRA, EE Act, and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act).
    • Maintain accurate employee records, warnings, and disciplinary files.
    • Assist in HR audits, reporting, and EE submissions.

    Health & Safety Compliance

    • Work with the Health & Safety team to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations in the motor industry.

    Key Requirements:

    Education:

    • Relevant HR Qualification, Industrial Relations, or a related field.

    Experience:

    • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in the motor or security industry.
