    HRD Officer Protection Services

    Job Description

    As a Human Resources Development Officer in Protection Services, you will be responsible to provide advice and support to the Protection Services management on all Human Resources Department related matters. You will need to identify learning and development needs and determine the most effective way of addressing these, also ensuring effective alignment and implementation of programmers and initiatives.

    As part of this role, you will also ensure alignment of Protection Service personnel development with the standards, regulations and stipulations of SASSETA, PSIRA, the PFTC and the CFR in terms of Quality Assurance and accreditation by Initiating, maintaining and monitoring compliance to Service Level Agreements with external service providers. This role is in the Human Resources Development department at a C5/D1 level reporting to the Protection Service HRD Coordinator.

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12
    • Completed 2nd year studies in Security management or OETDP Certificate NQF 5
    • Registered with PSIRA Grade A
    • PFTC registered Tactical Firearm Instructor - minimum grading of Advanced level in all disciplines.
    • ETDP Accredited Assessor and ETDP Accredited Moderator
    • DH4 or unit standard equivalent service dog qualification.

    • 117705 – Knowledge of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000
    • 119649 – Handle a Use a Handgun
    • 119650 – Handle a Use a Self-loading Rifle or Carbine
    • 119652 – Handle a Use a Shotgun
    • 123511 – Handle and Use a Self-loading Rifle or Carbine for Business Purposes
    • 123514 – Handle and Use a Shotgun for Business Purposes
    • 123515 – Handle and Use a Handgun for Business Purposes
    • 123510 – Apply Tactical Knowledge in the Use of Firearms
    • 123512 – Demonstrate Tactical Proficiency with a Shotgun
    • 123513 – Demonstrate Tactical Proficiency with a Handgun
    • 123518 – Demonstrate Tactical Proficiency with a Self-loading Rifle or Carbine
    • 123520 – Supervise Firearms Training
    • 123517 – Safely Supervise the Operation of a Shooting Range and Tactical Shooting

    Experience:

    • 3 years’ experience in Protection Service / Policing industry with 1 year HRD experience.

    Additional requirements:

    • Learning Management Systems (LMS) experience
    • Valid Code 08 Driver’s License
