    HSEQ Officer

    Role Purpose

    Supports health, safety and environmental aspects at operational work level, to ensure compliance with HSE programs and procedures on shift level on a local level. Coordinates and executes quality assurance audits and monitors adherence to FLSmidth quality assurance standards applicable to specific area/function.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Ensure Company prescribed HSEQ KPI’s are met.
    • Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated
    • Initiate, coordinate and manage all the safety, health, environment & quality assurance related tasks.
    • Maintain summary records of all Health &Safety equipment, certifications and equipment inspections.
    • Ensure that all relevant certificates including calibration records are kept up to date.
    • Ensure HSEQ training and inductions are completed.
    • Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure employee safety and environmental protection of flora and fauna
    • Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
    • Ensure that all incidents/accidents investigated, documented and recommendations are communicated to relevant stakeholders.
    • Address all workplace injury compensation related matters followed up with the relevant appointed authority.
    • Advice on statutory and safety, health, environmental and quality compliance and best practices and applications.
    • Promote HSEQ awareness amongst all employees.
    • Arrange and coordinate fire and emergency drills.

    Requirements

    • Matric/Grade 12
    • National Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent will be an advantage
    • SAMTRAC Course or equivalent qualification
    • Registration with SACPCMP will be an added advantage
    • 2 - 4 years’ working experience in safety
    • Sound knowledge of OHSAS 18 001, ISO 14 001 and ISO 9001
    • Ability to work overtime essential
    • Proven Experience in Audits and Inspections, Risk Assessments & Controls, system management, safety document control.

    Functional And Behavioral Competencies

    • Strong organizing capabilities.
    • Must be able to work under pressure
    • Should possess good oral and written communication skills.
    • Experience in fabrication/Manufacturing environment will be beneficial.
    • Experience in Microsoft Office essential.
    • Good administrative skills
