    Human Resources Director

    THE ROLE

    We are seeking a Human Resources Director, based in Cape Town, working for an international Renewable Energy company. As HR Director you will be playing a key role driving high quality performance and development for the company in the region (SSA)

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    Management, Leadership and Organizational Development

    • Ensure implementation and development of the local organisation, leadership and management in country/region in line with Scatec Solar vision, mission, values, strategy and ethical framework
    • Develop and manage own HR/office team
    • Be part of the local management team and actively contribute to the development of it

    Recruitment and Onboarding

    • Responsible for employer branding in the region to attract the right people with the right competence and behaviour
    • Ensure timely recruitment and onboarding of required level and quality of new hires
    • Ensure appropriate external agreements with recruitment agencies with desired level of competence to meet future business needs
    • Ensure appropriate support and regulatory compliance for relocations and work permitting matters

    Performance Development, Training and Development

    • Responsible for strengthening a holistic performance and competence driven culture in the country/region
    • Collaborate with line managers and global HR towards competency building, mapping and succession planning
    • Manage the country/region training and development
    • Recommend strategic direction for people development within the country/regional organisation
    • Ensure a motivational climate within the organisation including adequate opportunities for career growth and development

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Ensure implementation and development of compensation and benefits in country/region based on corporate guidelines and within the thinking of total rewards
    • Ensure adherence to corporate guidelines on salary adjustments, reviews and promotions
    • Ensure sufficient payroll services

    Employee Relations

    • Be a compliant and efficient employer role in country/region
    • Promote a diverse, fair and motivational working environment also by taking preventive action and initiative
    • Managing absences, leave, sickness and grievances
    • Ability to advise on potential risks and make recommendations in relation to employment matters
    • Guide and assist managers in disciplinary cases

    Office Management

    • Coordinate, manage and ensure efficient IT and HR administration in SA office and site offices
    • Ensure efficient and professional administration of office premises, including receptional services, phone answering, maintenance, cleaning and other relevant services
    • Ensure management of all third-party services and service agreements, including relevant rental and lease agreements
    • Manage office administration team and provide efficient routines and systems for secretarial services, filing,
    • mail handling, travel booking, meeting room booking, procurement of stationaries, maintenance of office machines
    • Manage insurance policies

    HR and Office administration

    • Ensure efficient HR and office administration including employee contracts and templates, personnel records and filing, HR reporting and statistics, safe travel routines etc.
    • Ensure regulatory compliance related to work permits and tax
    • Ensure that employee handbook for country/region is developed and updated

    REQUIRMENTS

    • University Degree in HR, Organisational Development or similar
    • At least 10 years’ experience or relevant background from HR and organisation management
    • Experiences of working in an international matrix organization
    • Strong South Africa (and regional) employment legislation knowledge
    • Experience with leading others

    • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
    • Understand and deploys advanced IT systems and tools including products in Microsoft Office.
    • Speaks and writes English fluently, additional languages is an advantage
