Manage Proof of Concepts

A strong vendor relationship is required to ensure an understanding of the vendor’s product business and technology positioning. A technical architect is expected to manage a solution ‘Proof of Concept’ (PoC) should it be required. This will not only involve managing the technical build of the PoC but also all the relevant stakeholders – most importantly managing the client expectation throughout the process as well as the successful outcome of the PoC.

Solutions Implementation Oversight

Once an Architect has crafted a solution it is critical that they remain involved in the implementation of the solution. This is more of a project oversight role than hands on engineering, but they use their project lead experience to ensure successful implementation They may be required to manage multiple development designs and projects to meet client and project timelines.

Client-facing skills

The Architect has sound client relationship building skills. Through collaboration they contribute to the success of a team. They have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well at all levels. This individual has excellent organisational and planning skills, and is able to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously. They are analytical thinkers with good problem solving ability and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, seeking ways to improve and promote quality.
