ENVIRONMENT:

• A cutting-edge FinTech company seeks the coding expertise of a solutions-driven Senior Java Developer whose core role will be to lead entire CRM applications from planning and architecture through to deployment, with real influence over technical direction.
• You will own the architecture, lead the delivery and help shape the technology behind the payment and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions that thousands of South African businesses rely on every day.
• If you are equally comfortable designing scalable architecture and digging into a tricky Structured Query Language (SQL) performance problem, and you get a kick out of mentoring others while shipping great software, this one’s for you.
• The successful candidate must preferably have a BSc. Degree in Computer Science/IT with 5-10 years Software Development experience with strong enterprise Java. DUTIES:

• Lead the development of complex CRM applications, including planning, architecture and deployment.
• Design scalable, maintainable architecture using Java, MS SQL and supporting technologies.
• Mentor Junior and Mid-level Developers through code reviews and sharing best practice.
• Make sure the applications meet industry security standards (e.g. the Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP) Top 10) and compliance requirements such as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
• Lead integrations with third-party tools, payment gateways and external Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and automate testing for faster, safer deployments.
• Work with internal teams, clients, vendors and partners, and explain complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences alike.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science or Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Information Technology will be an advantage.
• 5 to 10 Years’ Software Development experience, with strong enterprise Java.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL) skills.
• Experience with Gradle, Git, Extensible Markup Language (XML) and HyperText Markup Language (HTML) for Front-end Development.
• Solid grounding in system architecture, distributed systems, security, scalability and observability.
• Experience with CRM systems.
• A basic understanding of Linux environments.
