In-house Architectural Technician at SAOTA

Job Purpose

• An exciting opportunity exists for you to join the Research Team at the newly developed SAOTA-ARRCC Resource Centre. The In-house Architectural Technician would be tasked with assisting the Architectural Researchers in supporting the internal office portfolios (EXCO units) with all manner of drawings and imagery required for office templates, manuals and architectural drawing work required for internal office use. This work will be produced in the following software but not limited to Revit, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and InDesign. Additional general topical research and material sourcing will form a portion of the role as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the EXCO units by producing:

• Building presentation templates
• Design guideline workbooks (digital diagrams and/or hand sketches)
• Basic Internal web page design
• Providing graphic support for the internal SharePoint online library
• Responsible for any drawing work required for in-house use
• Assisting Architectural Researcher and BIM team to document product samples and make digital material assets for REVIT and Lumion.
• Digital cross-referencing in the project library by tagging relevant architectural elements, styles or materials.
• Assist the Library Administrator in cataloguing materials and products (if necessary)

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND CRITERIA

• Architectural Degree / Architectural Technology Diploma
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience (essential)
• Strong REVIT skills
• Lumion skills are advantageous
• Adobe Suite qualification and experience essential (Photoshop / InDesign)
• Advanced skills in MS Office Suite essential (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Ability to accurately understand and interpret instructions
• Ability to work within set criteria and document templates
• Clear ongoing communication with the Architectural Researcher
• Fluent in spoken and written English. Impeccable and concise communication skills, verbal and written
• All Employees are required to have an uncapped 20Mbps (up/down) minimum Internet Connectivity line
