Inclusive Procurement Specialist at Anglo American

Job Description:

• The Inclusive Procurement Specialist is responsible for implementing an over-arching Anglo Platinum Supply Chain Inclusive Procurement and Responsible sourcing strategies, policies, procedures, standards and associated reporting.

You will be responsible for:

• Implementing and maintaining Inclusive Procurement strategy, policy, procedures, standards and associated reporting.
• Providing the Business Unit with guidance and have an in-depth knowledge of public legislation and policy as they relate to Inclusive Procurement; In South Africa guide and advise on the requirements of BBBEE Act, the Mining Charter and / or other relevant prevailing legislation as they relate to Inclusive Procurement
• Leading the legislative BEE and Mining Charter audits and reporting.
• Monitor local and BEE procurement performance and encourage and motivate improvement activities.
• Ensuring monthly and regular ad hoc Mining Charter and BBBEE reporting is conducted.
• Ensuring systems are in place and reports are compiled for internal and external use and presentation to management.
• Maintaining and implementing Responsible sourcing strategy, standards, procedures and reporting.
• Lead and support direct reports in the Inclusive Procurement function.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in commerce / Economic or Human sciences
• Project Management qualification
• Post Graduate degree will be an advantage

Role-specific knowledge and experience required: 

• Extensive experience in implementing and influencing Supply Chain Local and BEE procurement transformation within a corporate environment.
• Experience in a supply chain function within the mining industry at a management level would be advantageous.
• Team management experience or leading projects.
• Engagement with Host Community forums and/or government stakeholders.
• Excellent understanding of South African black economic empowerment legislation including the Mining Charter, BEE codes of good practice (DMR & DTI), the BEE Act and BEE sectoral charters as it relates to preferential procurement is critical.
• A broad understanding of the mining industry and host community is an advantage.
