    Information Technology Operations Manager

    What you will do in the role

    You will be managing and working within a team consisting of both internal and external sys-admins and IT support engineers. The team provides support for internal development teams with cloud hosted infrastructure and IT support for 3 global offices, ensuring compliance standards along with SLAs are adhered to throughout.

    Responsibilities

    You will be responsible for the day-to-day activities linked to the company’s objectives across all core technology within IT Operations including all bespoke applications. 

    You will be involved in all team management responsibilities which are to:

    • Provide hands on support, both software and hardware for all PCs, laptops, mobiles, switches, access wireless controls, email, printers etc...
    • Manage the relationship with our 3rd party IT operations company
    • Hire your own operations team as and when required
    • Continually review capability and cost of the IT infrastructure against budget
    • Support escalations for all offices globally
    • Disaster recovery and BCP planning and mock test activities for all global offices
    • Ensure there is complete and correct documentation in place for all PC/digital devices
    • Support the security engineering team lead with office and cloud based security
    • Manage and support the infrastructure engineering team with all cloud based deployments and automation

    • Problem-solving aptitude; able to conduct research to define problems and prepare responses to anticipated questions and queries. Able to make logical conclusions, anticipate obstacles, and consider different approaches 
    • Bias to action; create ideas, think outside the box, problem solver and solution finder, proactive, use initiative to develop and improve
    • Structured in an unstructured environment; highly organised, ability to multi-task and project manage. Can correctly prioritise multiple issues, opportunities and creates structure, systems and processes from scratch

    Who we are looking for; track record must haves

    • Previous experience in a senior position on an IT support helpdesk or within a service desk environment
    • Previous experience managing or being part of a infrastructure engineering team
    • Track record of dealing with ticket queries at 1st and 2nd line level
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities across varying functions and locations
    • Strong team management, communication, organisational, and follow-up skills
    • Ability to perform business process analysis and create efficient solutions
    • Demonstrated PC and macOS literacy and ability to work with various desktop software
    • Proven ability to synthesize detail and information related to day-to-day operations into the presentation of key points and trends
    • History of working with Amazon AWS, Azure or Google cloud technology

    Experience that would be nice to have (but we’ll trade off if everything else fits)

    • Cisco technologies
    • Linux/MAC/Windows
    • Telephony experience with IP technologies
    • Experience of administering a Google Apps Domain and Drive storage
