Inspector, Inventory - Lephalale at Exxaro Resources

PURPOSE:

• To conduct inspections on warehouse inventory items.

Minimum Requirements    
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12/Standard 10 (Essential/Minimum)
• N2 Relevant Trade Subjects (Essential/Minimum)
• Trade: Artisan (Relevant) MQA/QCTO Accred (Essential/Minimum)

EXPERIENCE: 

• 3 years  Experience as an Artisan in Production and Maintenance processes.    (Essential/Minimum)    Operational

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities    
Administration and Document Control    

• Record all items scheduled for re-conditioning in applicable register
• Ensure test certificate is supplied if required
• Release items passing quality inspection by updating system and removing item from Quality Assurance (QA) status

Compliance, Governance and Assurance    

• Ensure all policies, procedures, standards and guidelines are adhered to in execution of inventory activities
• Align and implement Company Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) targets applicable to inventory area
• Comply with International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 9001 system
• Governance: Ensure function adheres to Group governance, policies, standards, statutory and legal compliance. Entrench a culture of discipline

Customer and Client Relationship Management    

• Manage applicable internal and external relations, including interface with external providers or other functions responsible to ensure business needs are met
• Provide relevant support to applicable stakeholders
• Collaborate and communicate with suppliers

Functional Excellence    

• Adhere to functional policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, end- to-end processes, tools, templates etc.
• Assist in standardising, simplifying and speeding-up functional processes, eliminating duplication/bureaucracy
• Apply functional best practices, promote sharing of best practices/knowledge
• Assist in the execution of functional excellence initiatives

Inspection and Control    

• Check items delivered correspond with purchase order and delivery notes
• Check all physical measurements taken are recorded on receiving documentation
• Authorize release of items passing quality inspection by updating system and removing item from Quality Inspection (QI) status

Internal Business Processes    

• Report quality deviations and conduct investigation
• Conduct critical evaluation of receiving and storage practices to ensure minimum compromise to productive life of equipment
• Assist with codification from an identification perspective

Inventory Control    

• Conduct quality inspections and assurance on stock/non-stock inventory items
• Monitor conditions during scrap disposal process in warehouse
• Register non-conformance with regards to expected quality requirements of items received
• Inspect items returned to stores

• Participate in and support implementation of information management technology and infrastructure support supply chain management processes in inventory unit
• Conduct accurate and timeous materials management reporting
