• Our client, based in Pretoria, is seeking a talented and creative Interior Designer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a design professional with commercial interior design experience to work on a variety of projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where creativity, innovation, and attention to detail are highly valued.

Job Purpose:

• To design, plan, and deliver functional and aesthetically pleasing commercial interior spaces by managing projects from concept through to completion while ensuring client requirements, project timelines, and quality standards are met.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education (Essential):

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or a related field

Minimum Applicable Experience:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in interior design with a focus on commercial projects

Required nature of experience:

• Commercial interior design
• Managing projects from concept to completion
• Client relationship management
• Space planning and design development
• Preparing technical drawings and design documentation
• Collaboration with contractors and project teams
• Mentoring or supporting junior designers (advantageous)

Skills and Knowledge (essential):

• Excellent design, communication, and project management skills
• Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong understanding of interior design principles
• Knowledge of building codes and accessibility standards
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills

Interior Design & Project Delivery

• Develop creative interior design concepts for commercial projects
• Prepare space planning layouts, technical drawings, and design documentation
• Ensure projects meet client requirements, budgets, and timelines
• Coordinate projects from concept through to completion

Client Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Present design concepts and recommendations
• Manage client expectations throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction

Project Coordination

• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Monitor project progress and ensure quality standards are maintained
• Coordinate installations and project implementation
• Resolve design and project-related challenges

Design Standards & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure compliance with interior design principles, building regulations, and accessibility standards
• Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and design innovations
