RPO Recruitment's client, a well-established building contractor in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will have solid commercial and contractual experience across a variety of building projects, with exposure to commercial, retail, industrial and residential developments.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates and forecasts.
Measurement and preparation of BOQs.
Monitor project costs and expenditure against approved budgets.
Prepare valuations, payment certificates and variation orders.
Manage subcontractor accounts and payments.
Assess and negotiate variations and claims.
Prepare and manage final accounts.
Assist with tendering, procurement and subcontractor appointments.
Conduct regular cost reporting and commercial reviews.
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and subcontractors.
Ensure effective commercial and contractual management throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
BSc/BTech in Quantity Surveying/National Diploma in Building
5–8 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Proven experience working on commercial, retail, industrial and residential projects.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management and commercial processes.
Experience with measurement, valuations, variations, payment certificates and final accounts.
