Intermediate Structural Engineer - Western Cape, CPT at Helderberg Personnel

Responsibilities:

• Assist Project Lead Engineer in analysing and designing the structural components of projects.
• Collaborate with design teams to identify and recommend action plan for problem-solving.
• Reviewing project drawings for accuracy and adherence to correct codes.
• Provide technical guidance to junior drafting staff and mentor/coach staff.
• FCA’s
• Structural conditional assessments and reporting

Requirements:

• Holds a bachelor’s degree in civil/Structural Engineering.
• 4 - 6 years’ experience in the structural field.
• Design software Prokon, Padds, Autodesk and/or Revit.
• Report writing and communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently and within a dynamic team environment.
• Understanding of current design codes, and practices
• Perform conceptual and detailed engineering design with rebar drawings.
• Prepare engineering calculations
• Carry out assigned tasks within budget and schedule
• Ensure co-ordination with designers and engineers within the civil discipline and with other disciplines
• Undertake construction supervision and management dependent upon project demands
• Support of site engineering team to provide technical solutions and timely response to technical queries.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and willing to travel from time to time.
