Intern- Facilities, Health and Safety at Stryker

Health and Safety key responsibilities:

• Ensure that the Company's operations comply with safety-, health- and environmental- standards and relevant legislation.
• Implement and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Plan and oversee strategic, operational, and administrative programs, projects, and/or services of broad significance to the organization within the designated functional area of focus.
• implement short- and long-term organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effect changes required for improvement.
• Manage and/or provide day-to-day leadership to various technical, professional, and/or administrative personnel engaged in specified project activities, as appropriate to the position.
• Responsible for and coordinates implementation of defined measures according to relevant SHE guidelines and regulations
• Analyse statistical information regarding SHE and give advice and recommendation for appropriate measures
• Support the responsible Management personnel in all SHE-related issues

Facility key responsibilities:

• Responsible for the daily continuity of the automation.
• Conduct and document regular facilities inspections.
• Manage facilities space for maximum efficiency.
• Coordinate intra-office moves.
• Assist with the overseeing of maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
• Assist with the overseeing of facilities refurbishment and renovations.
• Assist with the overseeing of facilities central services such as reception, security, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and parking.
• Implement best practice processes to increase efficiency.
• Obtain quotes and tenders from vendors and suppliers.
• Calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate contracts to optimize delivery and cost saving.
• Coordinate and monitor activities of contract suppliers.
• Manage contractor and vendor relationships.
• Manage contractors and vendor accounts with Stryker’s financial team.
• Ensure delivery schedules, quantity and quality criteria are met.
• Verify payment and invoicing match contract pricing.
• Plan and monitor appropriate facilities management staffing levels.
• Ensure efficient utilization of facilities maintenance staff.
• Performance manage, develop and train facility management and receptionists team.
• Monitor expenses and payments.
• Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives.
• Advise on and monitor energy efficiency.
• Oversee environmental health and safety.
• Assure security of the facilities.
• Respond to facilities and equipment alarms and system failures.
• Provide prompt response to requests and issues from facilities occupants.
• Manage Access Control systems and staff access permissions
