Internal Retail Sales Assistant at Status Staffing

• Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Internal Retail Sales Assistant to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers, driving sales, processing orders, and providing exceptional service while supporting the overall success of the retail environment. The ideal candidate will have proven internal sales or customer service experience, strong communication skills, excellent administrative abilities, and a proactive approach with a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years’ internal sales experience and/or customer service experience.
• 3+ years’ retail/shop floor experience in a similar industry.
• Matric essential.
• Clear credit record.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver required results with a proven track record in internal sales.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and independent worker who is also a strong team player.
• Well-groomed and professional appearance.
• Displays pride in who they are and what they do.
• Effective communication skills.
• Excellent customer service, care, and problem-solving skills.
• Good planning, organisational skills, and time management abilities.
• Neat and tidy.
• Friendly and helpful disposition with a positive attitude.
• Good administrative skills with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
• Proficiency in the use of Word, email, and the internet.

DUTIES:

• Grow the retail client base.
• Maintain and grow individual budgets.
• Be proactive in assisting walk-in customers.
• Take telephone orders professionally and ensure that orders are prepared for customers as agreed.
• Ensure products are neat and tidy, placed on the correct shelf/hook, or in the correct container/position.
• Ensure all surface areas in the responsible workstation are clean.
• Maintain a high standard of the overall condition and appearance of the assigned workstation and products.
• Order and update stock daily, as required.
• Conduct stock takes on request.
• Ensure pricing and product codes are visible at all times.
• Arrange and merchandise products effectively.
• Follow the correct company procedures relating to the above-mentioned responsibilities, in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
