    Investment Compliance Data Analyst

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintaining a solid understanding of (and an interest in) the investment industry, investment
    • products, instruments and structures.
    • Maintaining a solid understanding of financial mathematics, returns and industry trends.
    • Maintaining a good understanding of relevant investment regulations, including but not limited to:
    • AIFM and UCITS compliance for Irish and other EU funds
    • ASISA and Board Notice 90 compliance for CISCA funds
    • Board Notice 52 compliance for hedge funds
    • Regulation 28 compliance for retirement funds


    Maintaining an in-depth understanding of relevant investment risk metrics, including but not limited to:

    • VaR and CVaR (different VaR methodologies and the pros and cons of each)  
    • Exposure metrics (gross, net, commitment and global)
    • Liquidity analysis (liquidity days, various ways of aggregating liquidity days across the fund, etc.)
    • Derivative (deltas, contract multipliers, etc.)
    • Risks related to specific investment products (counterparty, issuer, credit, drivers of price risk, etc.)
    • Scenario analysis and stress testing of funds
    • SRRI (synthetic risk return indicator)


    Developing and maintaining an understanding of the processes across the different products,

    • services and deliverables of the business.
    • Working closely with other internal teams to continuously enhance an industry leading and
    • scalable risk, performance and compliance reporting solution (with the necessary interfaces to
    • ensure ease of use and understanding for clients).
    • Daily, monthly, quarterly and annual retrieval, validation, reconciliation and maintenance of
    • relevant risk, performance and compliance data.
    • Interrogation and analysis of data, including compliance monitoring / breach investigations.
    • Safeguarding integrity of sensitive client data.
    • Running, checking and sending of client reports on a daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
    • (relating to risk, performance and compliance).
    • Interpretation and analysis of report results.
    • Handling queries efficiently to ensure resolution of both internal and external client queries.
    • Interpretation of legislation, regulations, standards and client mandates, and subsequent coding of rules in compliance systems.
    • Supporting the management and co-ordination of team deliverables relating to projects and take-on of new clients.
    • Running independently with specific projects.
    • Conducting market research when necessary.
    • Performing ad hoc tasks and analyses as required.


    Required Experience

    • Related industry experience in a similar environment/role required (1 to 3 years) with exposure to risk analysis, performance analysis, investment compliance and associated regulatory requirements, etc.


    Required Qualifications

    • Relevant tertiary qualification(s) - undergraduate degree with a focus on finance, investments,
    • mathematics and / or statistics; honours preferred.

    • Ownership driven - willing to take on responsibility for a wide array of tasks in a small, ambitious
    • company.
    • Self-driven and self-directed, and able to see the bigger picture.
    • Strong quantitative and technical skills, specifically with regards to risk and performance analysis.
    • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.


    System Exposure

    • Exposure to relevant investment systems, as well as compliance software e.g. StatPro, thinkFolio and Moonfire, preferred.
    • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel (and including VBA).
