IT Business Analyst (Data Services) at Rand Merchant Bank

To analyse and understand business needs and translate into effective, scalable and fit for purpose solutions through detailed business, functional, process and data specifications.
Responsibilities

•  Engage with the macro-environment to look for new opportunities, capabilities and trends that would add value
•  Suggest changes in executing work processes to better drive value and benefits for the business
•  Prepare and share recommendations for process, data quality and systems improvements in relevant area of accountability.
•  Actively participate in team, cross-discipline and vendor-driven collaboration sessions or forums to increase understanding of the working environment (current and planned) Business and systems analysis
•  Identifies and examines business needs and determines timely and effective solutions to business functions and processes
•  Responsible for the systematic and methodical investigation, analysis and documentation of all or part of a business area in terms of business functions and processes, and the information they use across applications.
•  Act as liaison for and interface with business, internal and external parties.
•  Review demand items in partnership with business to better understand impacts on the relevant system, processes and systems environment.
•  Evaluates and documents the underlying business architecture and conducts feasibility studies, business cases, risk assessments, writes proposals, and creates functional requirements for new applications and major changes to existing applications and processes.
•  Comprehensive documentation of Test Plans and coordination of testing effort. Document implementation plan and ensure successful implementation. Conduct post implementation review
•  Provide system analyst capabilities in a business as usual and project construct. This includes resolution of business user requests
•  Shared ownership of recurring production incidents by working with multiple stakeholders to resolve system issues
•  Lead business and system analysis activities in relevant area Business integration
•  Ensure projects within the integrated architecture are aligned and delivered to achieve the to-be architecture, following same definitions, business rules etc
•  Provide an end to end analysis of composite Data services that is easily understandable for internal and external consumers
•  Facilitate and co-ordinate resolution of business requests
•  Partner with process owners to create suitable roadmaps for business development and in anticipation of system and process enhancements.
•  Test and identify where service gaps would exist should different technologies be applied to the same process or where business process changes would not be accommodated by existing technology capabilities.

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualification

•  Degree
• Preferred Qualification(additional to minimum)
•  Postgraduate degree AND/OR relevant experience in a similar environment

Technical Knowledge/ skills

In depth knowledge of:

•  Data and systems in a Markets business
•  Designing and implementing process flows
•  Data and Analysis best practises
•  Corporate Investment Banking domain
•  Industry standards and benchmarks

Experience:

•  Seasoned professional in analyzing, designing and implementing business processes and systems
•  8-10 years related experience
•  Experience working in an agile delivery team
•  Designing and implementing sustainable and dynamic solutions
