An IT Data Centre Operations Analyst is a seasoned professional responsible for providing medium- to complex technical support for data centre operations, installing and troubleshooting server hardware and software, and ensuring system security and performance.
This role may also be involved in IT infrastructure projects, monitoring network stability, and coordinating tasks with vendors and internal teams to maintain efficient data center operations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Monitors data centre systems to ensure they are running efficiently and effectively.
- Provides high-level technical support within the data centre.
- Troubleshoots and resolves any complex issues with the data centre infrastructure.
- Maintains the data centre’s hardware and software, including servers, storage systems, and network devices.
- Implements and manages security measures to protect data and infrastructure.
- Collaborates with IT teams to plan and execute data centre strategies.
- Analyses performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Participates in strategic planning for data centre infrastructure and operations to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Leads and manages IT projects, including migrations, upgrades and new implementations.
- Analyses and improves data centre processes for increased efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborates with various stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Participates in identifying and implementing innovative technologies and practices to enhance data centre operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
- Seasoned knowledge of data centre applications and systems.
- Seasoned proficiency in hardware and software systems like servers, networks and databases.
- Ability to collect and analyse system performance data to identify issues and improve IT systems.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical people.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Seasoned analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and devise efficient solutions.
- Seasoned project management skills.
- Proficiency in scripting languages to automate repetitive tasks and streamline operations.
- Competency in creating detailed reports that communicate findings and recommendations.
- Seasoned knowledge of SQL for managing and manipulating relational databases
- Seasoned, experienced professional; has complete knowledge and understanding of area of specialization.
- Uses evaluation, judgment, and interpretation to select right course of action.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field.
- Relevant vendor certifications such as ITIL foundation.
- Additional beneficial certifications such as CNET and CDCDP etc.
Required Experience:
- Seasoned experience in data centre applications, as well as server and non-desktop computer hardware, software, systems and other resources within a data centre setting.
- Seasoned experience in a similar role, with strong understanding of IT and data centre operations.
- Seasoned experience in identifying and implementing innovative technologies and practices to enhance data center operations.
- Seasoned experience in analyzing and improving data center processes for increased efficiency and reliability.
- Seasoned experience in participating in / managing IT projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new implementations.
