IT Graduate - Pietermaritzburg at Belgotex Floors

• The purpose of this role will be to assist the production manager in Belgotex’s Tufting department with implementing the kiosks for digital twin and monitoring to ensure that Belgotex customer service, volume and profitability goals are realized through efficient production, adherence to plan and high-quality output of a manufactured product.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Capture data accurately and apply critical thinking to monitor and achieve the shift production plan (volumes across all the machines). Ensure that seaming plans, poly’s and raw materials are readily available 
• Work with the Supervisors / Manager to monitor and capture all waste off the tufting machines and take corrective action to decrease the levels. 
• Manages and monitors the raw material usage to ensure waste levels are maintained at acceptable levels 
• Provide daily production updates outlining the key focus areas of the department.  Content and format to align to the agreed Operations Strategy Framework set by the Central Planning Officer. 
• Contribute actively to allow the Tufting Manger to report and give feedback to the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes, meetings and projects, to achieve the strategic business goals.  
• Ensure that all processes ISO standards (9001, 14001, 18001), and production specifications are documented into required SOP and process flow formats and stored centrally as per agreed document management system.
• Ensure that the most up to date product specifications are available to the shop floor to ensure consistency of process.
• Work with the Tufting Manger to implement continuous improvement processes to improve output, reduce variability and manage operational constraints •Ensure that stock take is done weekly and monthly (all raw materials, primary, mother rolls)
• Controlling the ‘yield’ per product and reconcile in put with the output per dye lot 
• Monitor and record expenses incurred during the day (consumables, etc) and be able to explain big variances to the Tufting Manager. 
• Continuously seeks financial optimisation opportunities and demonstrates an Entrepreneurial outlook.
• Ensures compliance with applicable safety, health and environment legislation and audit requirements, including safety meetings and feedback
• Stay abreast and relevant of current industry best practices to ensure processes are aligned to industry trends, legislative requirement, and strategic business goals to ensure sustainability of Belgotex

Requirements

• A completed Diploma/degree in Information Technology or relevant equivalent qualifications
• Matric (with passed maths and english)
