IT Infrastructure Manager at Defy Appliances

We are currently on a search for an IT Infrastructure Manager. The purpose of the role will be to ensure that the I.T infrastructure for Defy Appliances operates efficiently, resolving all technical problems and requests by users timeously.  Ensure all IT infrastructure (servers, networks, systems room equipment) is properly maintained, upgraded, secured and renewed when reaching end of life.  Ensure that new infrastructure requirements for company growth and new technology projects are designed, procured, implemented, and commissioned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage crisis situations that involve complex technical hardware or software problem.
• Ensure efficient running of all IT infrastructure, including SAN Storage, firewalls and switches, operating systems, anti-virus software, print services, communication systems and internet access.
• Manage projects, lead staff members and co-ordinate delivery from contractors.
• Ensure standards are met and adhered to by all technical staff.
• Manage all Servers & Network hardware, according to company procedure for help-desk, SLA’s, Project management, incident management and change management.
• Follow ITIL incident reporting on a weekly basis to confirm that SLA has been met.
• Lead the development and implementation of an architecture framework, standards and strategic road-map for IT infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership in the design for infrastructure projects.
• Procure IT hardware and operating system software as per corporate policies, procedures, and agreements.
• Operate and maintain IT infrastructure including local area networks, servers, back-up systems, Lan and MPLS networks.
• Manage IT networks Cisco switching /Routing and FortiGate Firewall change process.
• Overall technical lead as part of any major incidents, through to problem management and root cause analysis.
• Oversee the maintenance and administration of the network and related computing environment.
• Monitor IT network availability and performance and resolve operational issues.
• Provide IT team with appropriate IT technical support and advice based on emerging technologies.
• Managing and setting of server rooms to ensure legal compliancy and global standards are met.

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS

• National Diploma IT.
• 5 – 7 years’ experience in IT, specifically LAN & WAN / ROUTING.
• ITIL experience
• Technical Management experience
• Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining a networking environment.
• Demonstrated experience with network security.
• Demonstrated experience in wireless equipment, protocols, standards, and wireless LAN design.

ADVANTAGEOUS

• BTECH/BSc IT.
• 7 – 10 Years’ experience in IT at a senior level.
• MCSE /MCSA/MCITP.
• Cisco CCNA /CCNP Certified - preferable
• SAN Storage experience - preferable.
• VM WARE experience - preferable.
• Call centre systems experience

SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES

• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
• Ability to think through problems and strategize solutions.
• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot hardware and software network infrastructure devices including virtual network appliances, azure network infrastructure, wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, controllers.
