Determine new technology (hardware and software) requirements by attending IT Conferences and virtual training (Udemy).
Keep abreast of developments in industry that may affect current infrastructure and provide recommendations by attending IT Conferences and virtual training (Udemy).
Ensure network infrastructure and security compliance as per SOP.
Perform routine server and network start up and shutdown procedures and maintain control schedule.
Maintain the servers and network infrastructure.
Escalate major hardware or software problems or defective products to suppliers/support providers for service.
Plan, coordinate, and implement infrastructure and server security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
Monitor and control server security remote access policy.
Ensure all IT systems and hardware are fully patched and managed.
Write and disseminate network and server maintenance policy.
Ensure company data assets and business critical servers are backed up in accordance with the Backup Governance policy.
Provide expert support to helpdesk when requested.
Manage the installation /configuration of Routers and Firewalls for all branches and offices.
Monitor and report on connectivity for the Group to management.
Disaster Recovery plan as per SOP. Test bi-annually.
Perform scheduled maintenance on servers.
Recommend changes to improve systems configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
Liaise with server suppliers with regards existing system problems, where necessary (1.8%).
Monitor server performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made (5.4%).
Draft Project Charter for approval by line manager (when applicable) (6%).
Research, consolidate and present.
Requirements and Experience:
Grade 12, A+, N+, MCSE, CNE.
Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology.
3-5 years infrastructure support experience within a Microsoft and SQL Environment.
