IT Procurement Manager at Dis-Chem Pharmacies

Job Description

• Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a IT Procurement Manager who will be responsible for managing all procurement activities for IT hardware across the Group CIO function.
• The role ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing of IT hardware to support business operations, projects, and new store openings, while aligning with procurement policies, vendor agreements, and budget controls.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or Information Technology.
• 5+ years’ experience in IT procurement or supply chain roles.
• Experience procuring IT hardware in large or multi-site environments.
• Retail or multi-site experience preferred.

Responsibilities

 IT hardware procurement and sourcing

• Manage end-to-end procurement of IT hardware, including end-user devices, store equipment, network hardware, and peripherals.
• Plan and coordinate hardware procurement to support operational needs, projects, and new store rollouts.
• Ensure timely availability of hardware in line with delivery schedules and demand forecasts.

Vendor and contract coordination

• Work closely with IT vendors, suppliers, and procurement partners to source hardware at optimal cost and quality.
• Support contract negotiations, renewals, and supplier performance management for hardware vendors.
• Maintain approved supplier lists and ensure adherence to procurement frameworks.

Financial management and controls

• Manage hardware procurement budgets, forecasts, and spend tracking.
• Ensure purchase orders, approvals, and invoicing comply with financial and procurement policies.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, standardisation, and volume discounts.

Governance, compliance, and asset alignment

• Ensure hardware procurement complies with Dis-Chem procurement policies, security standards, and audit requirements.
• Align procurement activities with IT asset management and lifecycle processes.
• Support audits and reporting related to IT hardware procurement.

Continuous improvement

• Improve hardware procurement processes, standards, and planning practices.
• Drive standardisation of hardware specifications to improve efficiency and reduce cost.

Competencies

• Strong experience in IT hardware procurement and sourcing.
• Good understanding of IT hardware lifecycles, asset management, and supply chain considerations.
• Strong commercial, negotiation, and vendor coordination skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and procurement controls.
• Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
