IT Security Analyst at Core Group

Job Summary:

Provide first line response, monitors alerts using SIEM, behavioural analysis and activity monitoring tools. Gathering information, evaluate, report, remediate or escalate.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor alerts using SIEM, behavioural analysis and activity monitoring tools
• Gather basic information for alerts such as URL's, IP addresses, MAC addresses, domain names, location, affected machines or application
• Utilises various web resources and build in operating system utilities if the information is not included in the alert
• Investigate, evaluates, remotes and remediates incident alerts
• Performs risk assessments
• Assist in the development of plans to safeguard against accidental or unauthorised modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing need
• Monitors systems operational functioning and escalates issues where necessary
• Assist in the establishment specifications, processes, procedures and workflows
• Modify security files to incorporate new software, correct errors, or change individual access status

Requirements:

• Matric
• Tertiary degree or NQF 6-7 qualification, reelvant to this role
• ISACA or equivalent certification
• Incident management lifecycle aspects (logging, categorisation, resolution, monitoring, closure)
• Experience in detection, response, mitigation and reporting of cyber threats
• System, security and architecture design
• Updated knowledge on emerging industry trends
• 3-5 years experience in a similar role
