    IT Specialist, Product Configuration Platform

    The purpose of the position is to help implement and manage all operational transport management activities in South Africa’s parcel delivery business on BluJay with a specific focus on financials and data analysis.

    The engagement will focus on the implementation of the solution in alignment with the BluJay Parcel Programme’s scope and timelines as well as to be responsible for the long-term management and maintenance of the solution. Furthermore, there will be a big focus on the integration of new business units (incl. acquisitions) into the platform.

    The Primary Focus Of The Role Include

    The role will be responsible for the definition, implementation and management of configuration on BPP to meet business requirements.

    • System configuration for business processes
    • Analysis, monitoring and maintenance of data within the system
    • Support for reporting and data extracts from the TMS
    • Testing and support of customer integrations

    The position should understand the business requirement and transport process flow and align the BPP’s configuration to fulfil the need whilst ensuring standardization of processes, data and systems. The role will be responsible to ensure that every aspect of the BPP works in accordance with business expectation, either by configuration of the product or management of business expectation. The role will also be expected to support testing efforts in alignment with the standards setup of the solution.

    Job-related Requirements

    • 5+ years’ experience in the transport industry
    • 5+ years in IT as either a developer, configuration specialist or systems analyst or a similar role with a business relationship management and/or data analysis focus.
    • Solid SQL experience
    • Solid Excel experience, specifically wrt data analysis and presentation.

    • Own vehicle & drivers license
    • Ability and willingness to work long hours.
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills

    • A Bachelor’s in IT
    • A bachelor’s in industrial or systems engineering
    • Microsoft Excel
    • PL/SQL or T-SQL.
    • Any TMS product
    • Understand and configuration of operational processes
    • Understand and configuration of financial processes
    • End to end ownership of processes in the BPP solution
    • Perform QA/ UAT tests on configuration
    • Engage with stakeholders to source requirements
    • Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment on output (stakeholder management)
    • Engage with Vendor where needed for support of the product
    • Documentation of configuration in standard defined methods
    • Serve as support to business on the use of the BPP
    • Support on business visibility of the BPP and data within it, including but not limited to data reconciliations and in-depth data analysis.
    • A personality with Drive, Ownership and Proactiveness
    • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
    • Ability to prioritize and be diligent and methodical
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Ability to manage stakeholders on all levels
    • Skills in collaboration, partnering and negotiation
    • Experience in financial processes in the transport industry
    • Experience of transport operations
    • Ability to comply with governance processes and structure
    • An eye for detail and aptitude for getting involved in the detail when required
    • Exceptional organizational and planning skills
    • Ability to operate as part of a team (both locally and globally)
    • Understanding of databases and reporting
