IT Systems Engineer at Steinmuller Africa

Key Performance Areas:

• Ensure high availability of IT services.
• Analyse system (including servers and LAN and WAN) performance and perform system troubleshooting.
• Provide system solutions and optimise system performance.
• Ensure that the IT infrastructure is secure and vulnerabilities are managed.
• Maintain IT Infrastructure.
• Provide 3rd line support in order to find long term solutions to problems.
• Ensure that new system implementation projects are completed according to requirements.
• Ensure that a system disaster recovery plan is in place.
• Ensure that all system details are communicated to relevant parties.
• Document all systems configurations and to generate investigation reports.
• Any other job related duties as required from time to time.

Preferred Requirements:

• Grade 12.
• 5 + Years' relevant working experience.
• MCITP and MCSE qualifications.
• 3 Years’ experience with full exposure to IT systems and multi-site networks in the capacity of a Systems Engineer.
• 5 Years’ experience as an IT Support Technician with exposure to various IT systems and multi-site networks.

Experience in working with the following:

• Microsoft Server 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2022 active directory and group policies, as well as various other roles and features.
• Microsoft Azure
• Microsoft SQL 2012, 2016, 2019.
• Microsoft System Centre, including Data Protection Manager.
• Knowledge of general server and networking technology, including server virtualisation, active directory, group policies, email, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, WSUS, IIS, DNS, DHCP, file and printer sharing and remote desktop services.
• Knowledge of server and PC hardware maintenance, including cluster servers, networking and storage as required by Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of IP networking technology and protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP/S, FTP, SMTP, DNS, DHCP and routing.
• Knowledge of business continuity/disaster recovery including backup systems and recovery processes.
• Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
• Computer literate (MS Office and SAP).
