    IT Technician

    Job Summary

    • This role involves providing first- and second-line technical support to end users, maintaining IT infrastructure and equipment, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of IT services across the business.
    • The IT Technician will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, support users both on-site and remotely, and assist with installations, upgrades, and maintenance while delivering a high standard of customer service.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Provide technical support to end users remotely and on-site
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues
    • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
    • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of IT equipment
    • Configure and troubleshoot wired and wireless network connections
    • Log, track, and update support tickets in line with company procedures
    • Assist with IT asset deployment and inventory management
    • Support branch and site visits as required
    • Maintain accurate technical documentation and records
    • Set up equipment and user accounts for new employees (onboarding support)
    • Ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, and security requirements
    • Provide basic user training and guidance on systems and applications

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • CompTIA A+ Certification
    • CompTIA Network+ Certification
    • CompTIA Security+ Certification (advantageous)
    • Ubiquiti certification (UBWS or equivalent) (advantageous)
    • 1–3 years’ experience in an IT support environment
    • Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows OS, Microsoft 365, networking (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi), and end-user hardware
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Customer-focused approach to service delivery
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Good organisational and time management skills
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
    • Willingness to learn and continuously develop technical skills
