IT Warehousing and Systems Specialist at Unitrans

Job Advert Summary    
An opportunity has arisen for an IT Warehouse Specialist responsible for all Warehouse Management Systems and supporting software. Software and hardware. System maintenance of current systems and new warehouses. Evaluate new systems. Design, implementation, training for new warehouses and upgrading of existing warehouses.  Reporting for company and customers.

Minimum Requirements    

• 4 year Degree / NQF level
• Up to 6 years’ experience

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Assist in determining the group strategy for expansion and growth of warehousing.
• Investigate and evaluate and recommend alternative systems
• Investigate and evaluate and recommend of hardware for use in warehouses.
• Design and Develop better reporting for contract and customers.
• Development and advancement of business intelligence
• Administration of the Warehouse Management and related Transport Management Systems
• Assist with the maintenance of ancillary system for load and route planning and document scanning.
• System design and Implementation of systems at new warehouses. Costing of new warehouse systems and hardware.
• Upgrade of existing warehouse systems.
• Assist and check new warehouse designs and layout, ensuring best system use.
• Assist with the design and implementation of warehouse processes and procedures
• Assist in Project management of new warehouses and upgrades
• Check and maintain interface processes between the customer and the company.
• Development of new interfaces where required. In depth investigation of errors on the systems.
• Fix errors on the system Detail reporting of errors to Software suppliers where error cannot be fixed.
• Assist in development of corrected applications to fix errors. Testing of corrected application. Implementation of corrected application.
• Train, Support and Control other users on the systems including RF scan users.
• Audit and control of Stock takes. Audit of system info for correctness and retraining of users where needed.
