Junior Accountant at Hollard Insurance

Job Advert Summary    

• To prepare information required for the complete on of monthly results (processing of journals). To prepare and analyse monthly EVRs
• Preparing and posting all allocations and recovery journals for OSUs. To assist OSUs to recover expenses
• Post payroll journals in the general ledger to record salary expenses within Hollard monthly
• Prepare and post journals for provisions in the general ledger
• Update Expense Variance reports monthly
• Timely and accurate preparation of P&L’s and EVR’s 
• Analysis of expense variance reports and follow up on variances with CSU heads
• Attend to queries relating to expenses
• Assist with preparation of expense budgets and forecasts. Bea bale to prepare, review, and provide analysis and explanations on the prepared budgets and forecasts
• Assist with defined ad hoc projects according to the departmental needs
• Ad-hoc attendance to meetings as requested

Required Knowledge and Experience    

• 2-3 years finance experience 
• Fully computer literate
• Good communication skills – both written and verbal
• Results and achievement oriented
• Customer/SLA focused
• Knowledge of Great Plains
• Integrity
• Problem solving

Educational Requirements    

• Matric Certificate
• Studying towards a BComm
