Junior Accountant - Production/Admin (Ladismith) at Lactalis South Africa

Job Description    

The purpose of the role is to give accurate reporting of production/management accounting information with a strong focus on costing. Analysing and reporting the daily, monthly results will be important in order to support and development of the Business Unit. Required Skills    

• Grade 12 with Accounting.
• Must have 2 years financial experiences working in a FMCG environment
• Develop partnership roles with Plant Manager/ Production Managers/Controllers/ Financial Manager
• To have presentation skills (Advantageous)
• Must be a self-motivator with good planning, organising and admin skills
• Able to work independently and must have strong interpersonal skills and analytical skills
• Must be accurate and pay attention to detail
• Must be a good communicator
• Computer literate in MS Office (Excel advanced skills)

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Analysing daily, monthly and yearly results of production
• Monthly reporting and annual budgeting
• Training of Staff on inventory system and reports
• Chairing departmental stock flow meetings
• Assisting with GMP reports and material loss tracking
• Driving continuous improvement and accuracy of information
• Focus on accurate routings and costing of products within BPCS, updating BOM’s
• Support Production Managers by providing information and assisting production clerks with any capturing/system problems
• Ad-hoc financial & reporting tasks
• Ensure that effective internal control procedures are in place on all financial functions or cycles (i.e. stock, assets and other)
• Assist in supplying accurate information to optimise recipes
• Support role for forecast
• Weekly KPI Reports, understanding how department are tracking on KPI
• Improvement and actions plans to be implemented
