About the job
To assist in the establishing Merchant Capital as the leading source of alternative retail SME business finance in South Africa.
Purpose of the Job:
Support the assigned acquisition channels by developing a collaborative environment and implementing the sales strategy.
Implement acquisition channels business plan and achieve set-out KPI’s.
Co-ordinate interaction between stakeholders (internal and external). Provide assistance to the CRO and Partnership Managers in line with key performance indicators for the department.
Identification of opportunities in line with the role.
Develop trust relationships with acquisition channels to ensure they do not turn to competitors. Ensure that the relationship mutually benefits the parties’ business and brand proposition
Acquire a thorough understanding of key acquisition channel needs
Expand the relationships with existing acquisition channels by continuously proposing solutions or initiate projects that meet their business objectives, including training of their employees
Continuously liaise with all acquisition channels to solve issues, communication needs to meet targets.
Partnership manager has direct contact with the acquisition channels
Internal communication between Partnership Manager and Inside Sales exec, keeping external lines of communication clear.
Aggregator relationship effectively managed
Build the external stakeholder relationship through targeted outreach and strong initiative management. Streamlined process from beginning to end
Ensure both acquisition channel and Merchant Capital are delivering on agreed commitments and SLA
Pipeline Building and Management
Play an integral part in generating relevant leads (MQLs and SQLs)
Preparation of reports.
Manage projects according to budget
Proactively trains all employees within allocated portfolio, and ensures they are equipped to identify opportunities when they present themselves.
Initiate and facilitate meetings with relevant parties (internal and external)
Minute meetings and update Trello board accordingly
Ensure relevant parties supply work on time
Leveraging and /or repurposing existing research and marketing collateral to add value and deepen the relationship
Maintains current product knowledge on features and benefits of Merchant Capital’s services and offerings
Knows and follows the defined processes/business rules
· Leveraging acquisition channel resources to share their insights back into MC
Maintains current knowledge of financing options to assist acquisition channel and Merchant Capital KPIs
Ensuring data is captured correctly and supports the business rules
Contingency for lead loading on a call challenge
Gather and provide information for distribution partnership data analysis and reporting
Tertiary qualification Advantageous: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Management, Communications, or related fields
Solid experience in sales and marketing strategies
At least 3 years’ work experience in client relations and/or co-ordination
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Self-motivated and driven
Client service orientated
Strong organizational skills
Keeps up to date with field of expertise, and uses such knowledge effectively
Serves as a “resources person” on whom others rely on for advice
Use all the resources at disposal to be able to answer questions and deliver on promises
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Applies a hands-on approach to own work
