An opportunity has become available within our Design team for a talented, highly motivated Designer who has the ability to create functional, leading sportswear apparel that is aligned with market trends and meets the end consumer’s needs. The ideal candidate should be passionate about technical apparel, have good organisational skills, work well collaboratively within a team, be detail-oriented and deadline driven.
As a Junior Designer, you’ll play a crucial role in staying ahead of market trends and developing design concepts that align with the brand’s vision and end consumer’s needs.
Responsibilities:
Research and analyse trends in sporting apparel in terms of styling, fabric and technology innovation, and colour
Create innovative, functional designs, mood boards, colour palette and design direction for seasonal ranges
Develop detailed spec packs and update them throughout the development process
Drive the product development lifecycle adhering to quality standards, fit and costing framework
Fabric and trims sourcing
Cross collaboration with our product development team and production team to ensure timely delivery of collections
Maintain a close working relationship with key retail partners and suppliers to achieve business strategy
Weekly manufacturing facility visits
Required attributes, skills and qualifications:
Relevant Design qualification
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft packages
Technical expertise (knowledge of fabrics, construction techniques and performance features)
Problem Solving
Deadline driven
Passion for sports and understanding of performance fabrics
