Junior Buyer Industrial Services at Danone

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• This position is responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and tracking supplier performance. The ideal candidate has excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, as well as a strong understanding of supply chain management.

SPARE PARTS

• Track and analyse data to identify trends and recommend purchasing strategies.
• Conduct negotiation and re-negotiations of terms of business/service agreements and performance    evaluation with suppliers taking corrective action as required.
• Analyze RFQ’s, quotations and negotiate prices and terms.
• Continuously question requirements both internally and externally to gain a full understanding of needs.
• Maintain an accurate database of suppliers and spare parts.
• Uploading Contract prices & lead times per item on SAP
• Follow up with suppliers on late orders.
• Understand and define areas for improvements within the category.
• Identify productivity opportunities in terms of prices paid for the parts and inventory value reduction.
• Track the productivity delivered every month, manage risk & Operations.
• Meet with suppliers on a regular basis to obtain feedback and to address any areas of concern.
• Build excellent relationships with suppliers to improve supplier performance.
• Research potential vendors and products to identify cost-effective solutions.

INDUSTRIAL SERVICES

• Develop detailed knowledge of existing and potential supply base for Industrial and identifying    potential productivity projects.
• Compiling tender documents and preparing recommendations/adjudications for identified Industrial spend.
• Negotiate with and influence suppliers to achieve improved service and pricing.
• Ensure that suitable suppliers are selected based on predetermined criteria and ensuring compliance   with all validation processes and SLA’s including SEDEX, Third Party Vetting and BBBEE
• Drive to secure license to operate by improving WISE/ Safety performance.
• Ensure compliance with One Time vendor process.
• Track SEDEX and Ecovadis compliance and ensure suppliers membership stays up to date.
• Liaising with the Global Procurement team, leveraging each other’s strengths

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS          

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, National Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Demonstrated buying experience, familiar with a production environment.
• Knowledge of purchasing regulations and compliance requirements
• 3 – 5 years working experience, preferably in FMCG
• SAP expertise
