Junior Construction Foreman (Paarl Onsite) at Datafin Recruitment

ENVIRONMENT:

• OUR client is looking for a motivated Junior Construction Foreman to join their construction team in Paarl. This opportunity is ideal for someone with solid building and site supervision experience who wants to develop their career under the guidance of an experienced Site Management team.
• The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day site operations, supervise subcontractors, ensure quality workmanship, and help deliver projects safely and on schedule.
• You must reside in the Paarl area, have experience in a similar role with the ability to read and interpret construction drawings, have a solid understanding of building construction principles and best practices and knowledge of brickwork, cavity walls, waterproofing, and DPC detailing.

DUTIES:

• Assist with the day-to-day supervision of construction activities.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and set out work from plans.
• Oversee brickwork and ensure correct construction methods are followed.
• Ensure correct waterproofing, damp-proof courses (DPCs), and brickwork detailing.
• Supervise plastering works, including setting out, dotting for plumb and square, and quality control.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors.
• Monitor workmanship across multiple trades including Bricklaying, Tiling, Carpentry, Ceilings & Roofing.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
• Maintain quality standards and assist with project progress reporting.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must reside in the Paarl area.
• Experience in a Junior Foreman, Site Supervisor, or similar construction role.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Understanding of building construction principles and best practices.
• Knowledge of brickwork, cavity walls, waterproofing, and DPC detailing.
• Experience supervising subcontractors.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Valid Driver's Licence.
