Meridian Wine Distribution, a leading liquor distribution company based in Brackenfell, Western Cape, is seeking a Junior Demand Planning and Inventory Coordinator to support demand planning and inventory management within the supply chain function.
The role focuses on ensuring accurate inventory visibility, effective stock control, and efficient coordination of supply chain processes to support overall business operations and product availability.
Key Responsibilities
Provide inventory and stock availability information to internal stakeholders.
Liaise with suppliers and operational teams regarding order status and deliveries.
Escalate stock risks, shortages, or supply concerns to the Senior Demand Planner.
Support customer service teams with inventory-related information.
Support inventory optimisation by maintaining accurate planning information.
Identify excess stock risks and escalate concerns.
Assist with reducing unnecessary stockholding costs.
Support inventory control initiatives.
Support Vintage management process to prevent old-stock risks
Update forecasting and planning information within inventory systems.
Maintain accurate product, inventory, and planning master data.
Prepare forecasting reports and supporting planning information.
Identify and escalate unusual demand trends or data variances.
Monitor inventory levels against defined stock parameters.
Identify potential stock shortages, overstock risks, or slow-moving stock.
Support replenishment planning activities and stock balancing requirements.
Assist with inventory reviews and stock analysis.
Create and process purchase orders and transfer orders accurately.
Track supplier deliveries and warehouse transfers.
Follow up on outstanding orders and delivery delays.
Resolve basic order discrepancies and escalate unresolved issues.
Generate inventory, forecasting, and stockholding reports.
Monitor inventory performance and planning KPIs.
Maintain planning records and supporting documentation.
Support planning projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Use inventory planning systems and reporting tools accurately.
Ensure data integrity across planning platforms.
Manage workload and priorities effectively.
Participate in planning and supply chain development initiatives.
Education and Experience
Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or related field.
1–2 years' experience in inventory, planning, supply chain, logistics, procurement, or warehouse administration.
Inventory management, reporting, forecasting concepts, and supply chain processes.
