We are looking for a Junior Desktop Support Technician who will be responsible for assisting the Network Administrator Team Lead and the Infrastructure & Security Department. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting, resolving and assisting in all technical requests and will be the first point of contact for all service requests & IT-related matters.
Core Competencies:
Responding to client support requests
Contacting clients to find out the nature of the problem
Assisting users in the office or connecting via a teamviewer
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
Installing and maintaining hardware and computer peripherals
Installing and upgrading operating systems and computer software
Troubleshooting networking and connection issues
Advising on software or hardware upgrades
Providing basic training in computer operation and management
Completing tickets and updating relevant documentation relating to the role
Stock receiving, booking in and management
Requirements:
Grade 12 (Matric)
Proven work experience in the same or similar role
Linux+ or equivalent qualification
A+ Certification
N+ Certification
Knowledge of computer hardware systems, chipsets, memory modules, and peripherals
Knowledge of popular operating systems, software applications, and remote connection systems
Ability to solve complex hardware and software issues
Able to travel to the office and work after hours/weekends when necessary
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent interpersonal skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Possess a good attitude and willingness to learn
Good time management skills
Approaches tasks with initiative
