Junior Farm Manager Citrus at Mayfly Agri (Pty) Ltd

• A well-established company involved in growing, packing, exporting, importing, and distributing fresh citrus, with operations in South Africa, Argentina, and Spain, is seeking a Junior Farm Manager to be responsible for assisting with the efficient management of citrus orchards, including crop production, irrigation, labour, harvesting, maintenance, compliance, and operational planning.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a degree in Agronomy or an equivalent Agricultural qualification
• Exposure to citrus production and leading general farm workers is advantageous
• Very high levels of commitment, proactivity, and hands-on attitude

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the day-to-day management and supervision of citrus orchards and farm operations.
• Monitoring irrigation, fertilisation, pest and disease control programmes.
• Supervising farm labour and contractors, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to required standards.
• Assisting with pruning, planting, harvesting and general orchard maintenance.
• Monitoring crop development, yields and fruit quality.
• Maintaining accurate records of production, inputs, labour and equipment.
• Assisting with planning and implementing seasonal farming activities.
• Ensuring compliance with farm safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Assisting with machinery, equipment and infrastructure maintenance.
• Supporting the Farm Manager with budgeting, procurement and operational planning.
