Junior Firefighter at Knysna Municipality

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

• Candidate Physical ability Test (CPAT)
• Grade 12 
• 1 Year Operational Experience 
• Accredited Fire Fighter 1 Certificate 
• Hazmat Awareness 
• Valid Code B Drivers License 
• Physically and Mentally fit 
• Medical Test NFPA 1582 
• No Criminal Record 
• Proficient in English and at least one other official language of the Western Cape 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: 

• Performing firefighting and rescue activities 
• Participating in fire and life safety training and preparation 
• Conducting upkeep on vehicles, equipment and the fire station 
• Performing basic administrative functions 
• Performing apparatus and machinery operation 
• Operate a variety of vehicles, light and heavy driven machinery up to level of certification 
• Performing of Control Room duty when required 
• Ensure a safe and healthy work environment and safe application of duties.
