The Role

A Junior IT Security Administrator (Junior ITSecAdm) is responsible for the effective administration of product and financial information related to IT Assets (Hardware, Software Licencing, etc) throughout the Group and assisting with Information Security activities in support of the Chief Information Security Officer. The administration of IT assets essentially entails the sourcing (procurement), recording, storing, allocating/deallocating, auditing, reconciliation and reporting of IT assets. In addition to the above, the Junior ITSecAdm is also responsible for stock management of unused IT Assets and may be requested to assist in the configuration of IT end-points (laptops, etc.).

The ideal Junior IT SecAdm candidate will have experience with administering the assets of a company. The candidate should have knowledge and experience with stock management, order management, invoice and payment management

Key Responsibilities:

The Junior IT Security Administrator shall be responsible for:

• the administration of IT Assets (Hardware, Software, etc.) which involves the sourcing (procurement), recording, storing, allocating/deallocating, auditing, reconciliation and reporting of IT assets at all international office locations (South Africa, USA, United Kingdom and Hungary)
• engaging vendors globally with respect to the sourcing of IT Assets
• obtaining quotes from vendors, obtaining Purchase Orders from Finance for vendors, facilitating the receipt of IT Assets from vendors, facilitating the return of incorrect IT Assets to vendors, tracking Finance invoice receipts and payments against an approved Order (IT Procurement Management), recording all IT Assets procured in an IT Asset Register and to maintain this information as information related to the asset changes (e.g. re-allocation of asset, loss of asset, etc.)
• managing or facilitating the management of the store room (in the case of international sites) with respect to the safe-keeping of stock (IT Assets such as laptops) that have not been allocated to staff (IT Stock/Storage Management)
• allocating or deallocating IT assets to end-users (IT Provisioning)
• participating in regular audits of the IT Assets to ensure compliance and accuracy of the IT Asset Register
• reconciliating the IT Asset Register to the Finance Asset Register on a regular basis
• regular reporting on the status of IT Assets
  • Support Information Security administrative functions, disaster recovery and incident response plans from a logistical, administrative and communications capacity 

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Ability to solve problems in stressful situations
• Strong attention to detail
• Communication skills
• A minimum of 3 years’ working experience with similar responsibilities in any industry, is preferable
• A minimum qualification of a 3-year National Diploma in either Information Technology or Finance/Accounting is required
• Any formal or informal IT Asset or IT Security training would be an advantage
