The Junior IT Technician will assist with the daily operations of the IT department, providing technical support to end-users on computer hardware, software, and network-related issues. The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in IT principles, possess excellent problem-solving skills, be eager to learn, and have a strong desire to grow and develop in the IT field.
Key responsibilities:
Provide technical assistance and support to end-users in person and remotely
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, diagnose and resolve problems in a timely manner
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripheral devices
Install and maintain software applications, performing upgrades and patches as necessary
Assist with the setup and configuration of network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls
Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks to ensure their availability and integrity
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of IT security measures, including antivirus and firewall software
Assist in the documentation of IT procedures, policies, and system configurations
Assist with the inventory management of IT assets, tracking hardware, software, and licenses
Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry developments, and best practices to enhance IT knowledge and skills
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or technical courses are a plus
Proven interest and basic knowledge in IT through education, previous experience, or personal projects
The following Certifications will be advantageous; CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals
Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking principles
Familiarity with Windows and MacOS operating systems
Basic knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and VPN technologies
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Eagerness to learn and continuously improve IT knowledge and skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
