Junior Mechanical Engineer

• Our client, a well-established project management and engineering consulting company based in Centurion, is seeking a motivated and technically competent Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team.
• This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to gain exposure to multidisciplinary engineering projects within the EPCM and mining sectors.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree (BEng/BSc) in Mechanical Engineering (Essential)
• 3+ years' post-graduate experience in a construction, EPCM, engineering consulting or mining environment.
• Experience working on industrial, mining or infrastructure projects will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, engineering design and relevant South African standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor or similar engineering software will be advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel to project sites when required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist with the design and development of mechanical engineering solutions for various projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and supporting documentation.
• Produce and review mechanical drawings and technical designs.
• Support senior engineers throughout the project lifecycle, from planning through to commissioning.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Assist with equipment selection and mechanical system design.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal project teams.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, company procedures, and health and safety regulations.
• Assist with procurement activities, technical evaluations, and project scheduling.
• Identify engineering risks and propose practical technical solutions.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and project records.
