Junior Safety Officer - Prospecton at Stratogo

Desired Experience and Qualification:

• Matric
• Applicable Diploma and/or a relevant NQF SHE qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role.
• Experience from Ro-Ro / Logistics industry (Desirable)

Minimum requirements:

• Clear criminal record
• Flexibility in terms of working hours.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel especially).
• Good report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Administrative, technical and training service in respect of health, safety and environmental procedures and standards, including hazard identification, risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Responsible for SHE monitoring, auditing and reporting on unsafe/ unhealthy situations and assisting in the implementation of improvements.
• Preparation of SHE incident statistics for reporting purposes.
• Responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of the Health and Safety and Environmental plan and management system.
• Conduct incident investigations to identify root cause and preventative measures.
• Provide support and advice to line management regarding SHE matters.
