Junior Sales Engineer, Woodmead, Gauteng at Sheldon Recruitment

• We are seeking a Junior Sales Engineer for a permanent vacancy based in Woodmead, Gauteng

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Engineering qualification, preferably in Chemical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 2 years' sales/business development experience, ideally in the water/wastewater industry
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems, chemicals, consumables, and spares
• Established network within industrial, consultant, and supplier markets
• Proficiency in MS Office; Ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong business development and sales skills
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities
• Commercial understanding of pricing, contracts, and margins
• Ability to manage long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders
• Strong technical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies
• Focus on growing both new and existing customer accounts.

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Monitor client portals for RFQs and tender opportunities.
• Prepare and submit quotations, proposals, and tenders.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities through client visits, networking, and cold calling.
• Manage the sales pipeline from prospecting to contract award.
• Track and report on sales activities and pipeline performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and SHEQ requirements.
